KESHA'S STORY:
Hi, I’m Kesha. As a lifelong learner, I have navigated the unique challenges and blessings of being part of a military family—first as a dependent child and later as a spouse.
At the age of two I was diagnosed with inoperable hearing loss. Understanding the importance of early intervention, my father, (an engineer), and mother, (a nurse and substitute teacher for the blind), enrolled me in speech pathology therapy at Walter Reed Hospital.
There, I learned to read lips and communicate through sign language, skills that would shape my resilience and ability to adapt in a world that often overlooks the unseen challenges of others.
EARLY YEARS
My upbringing was built on discipline, critical thinking, and problem-solving. My parents were lovers of strategy and intellectual growth. Jigsaw puzzles, crossword games, checkers, and chess where my mother’s favorite tools to cultivate my patience, resilience, and tenacity. My father introduced me to military-style games to reinforce strategic thinking, composure under pressure, and unwavering determination.
SEEING CHALLENGES THROUGH A DIFFERENT LENS
Life’s journey has brought me through soaring triumphs and heartbreaking trials. I am no stranger to adversity. No one is exempt from challenges. But what sets me apart (and what can set YOU apart) is the perspective—the ability to see, interpret, and resolve life’s obstacles through a different lens. Unlike most, my learning experience was neither conventional nor always accessible. Receiving only 40% of auditory information, I became acutely attuned to social cues, body language, and unspoken nuances.

This heightened awareness has not only allowed me to navigate life’s complexities but has also deepened my understanding of the human condition—revealing that what appears insurmountable is often an invitation to uncover hidden solutions.
UNDERLYING STRENGTH
My strength does not come from me alone. The living Word has been my foundation—the logos (written word) grounding me, the dunamis (power) sustaining me, and the rhema (spoken truth) guiding me to success in and out of season.
Through faith, perseverance, and divine purpose, my experiences transformed into a calling. My challenges became my destiny, my destiny became my mission, and my mission became my journey. This journey led me to Mmea Aruwkah—a place of healing, restoration, and empowerment.
